Treat the whole arrangement as if it were one big frame: center the cluster at 57 in and leave 2 to 3 in between individual pieces. Hanging over a sofa or console? Ignore the 57-inch number; the 8 to 10 inch gap above the furniture is what actually looks right, since art tied to a piece of furniture should sit close to it, not float up at eye level on its own.

How much space should I leave between frames in a gallery wall?
2 to 3 inches is the standard gap, close enough to read as one arrangement, wide enough that individual frames don't visually merge together.
How do I center a gallery wall cluster?
Treat the whole arrangement as one big frame. Find its combined width and height, then center that combined shape at 57 inches from the floor, the same eye-level rule used for a single frame.
How many frames should a gallery wall have?
5 to 9 frames is the sweet spot for most walls, enough to feel intentional without becoming visually busy. Odd numbers tend to look more natural than even ones.
Should the biggest frame go in the center?
Usually, yes, or slightly below center. Anchoring the largest piece first and building the smaller frames around it gives the whole cluster a clear focal point instead of a flat, uniform grid.
Can I plan a gallery wall above a sofa with this tool?
Yes, set your wall width to the usable space above the furniture and ignore the 57-inch guide line. For a piece anchored to furniture, an 8 to 10 inch gap above the furniture top matters more than eye level.
