Paper Weight (LBS)

Paper weight, measured in pounds (lbs) in the US, indicates how heavy and thick a sheet of paper is — but the number alone can be misleading, since text-weight and cover-weight paper use different base sheet sizes for their pound rating. Comparing lb weight across paper categories without converting to GSM can lead to ordering the wrong stock.
