CASE STUDY · PHOTO BOOK DESIGNER INTEGRATION
How WanderLab went from days of manual proofing to an album customers build and order themselves
We connected our photo book designer to WanderLab’s Shopify store and translated it into Romanian, turning a slow, back-and-forth process into something a customer finishes in one sitting.

WORK DONE
Since 2025
PARTNER SINCE
A WanderLab travel journal, designed and ordered entirely by the customer, from cover to final page.
THE CLIENT
A travel photo album brand that outgrew doing every book by hand
WanderLab (wanderlab.ro) sells personalized travel photo journals to customers across Romania, with more than 350 destination designs spanning Europe, Asia, Africa, and beyond. Before they came to us, every album started with a customer emailing their photos over, and someone on the WanderLab team laying the whole book out by hand.

THE PROBLEM
Every album meant days of back and forth before it could even go to print
Customers used to send their photos over manually, and someone at WanderLab would lay out the whole album by hand, then send a proof back for approval before anything could go to print. It worked, but every order sat in someone’s inbox for days before production could even start.
WHAT WE BUILT
A photo book editor customers use themselves, in their own language
We connected our photo book designer directly to WanderLab’s Shopify store and translated the whole editor into Romanian, so a customer can search by country, pick a design, and build their album without ever leaving the site or switching languages.
PB
Customers pick from more than 350 destination templates, upload their own photos, then crop and apply filters right in the editor before ordering.
RO
Romanian Language Editor
We translated the entire editor into Romanian, so every step, from picking a template to placing the order, reads in the customer’s own language.
PR
Automated Print-Ready Handoff
The moment an order comes through, WanderLab’s team gets a print-ready file straight in their backend, ready to send on to production, no manual layout, no proofing email.
A WanderLab album template, open in the editor a customer uses to build their own book.
HOW IT WORKS TODAY
From picking a country to a finished order, in one sitting
The whole flow runs on WanderLab’s own store, in Romanian, so a customer never has to wait on anyone at WanderLab to move their order forward.
01
Search by country and pick a design template on wanderlab.ro.
02
Upload your own photos, then crop and apply filters right in the editor.
03
Finish the layout and pay for the album online, no proof, no waiting on anyone.
04
WanderLab gets the print-ready file straight away and sends it on to production.
WHAT CHANGED
Days of manual work, down to a few minutes on the customer’s side
Building one album by hand and getting it approved used to take several days. Now a customer picks a destination, builds their album, and pays for it in a few minutes, and WanderLab never touches a layout file before it goes to print.
✓
Customers design and order their own album, no email thread, no waiting on a proof.
✓
Every order arrives at WanderLab as a print-ready file, ready to send straight to production.
✓
The entire editor runs in Romanian, so customers never leave their own language to build an album.
Before: several days from order to production. Now: a few minutes, start to finish.

Live today, with more of the story still coming
The photo book editor and the Romanian translation are both live on wanderlab.ro right now. We’re still gathering WanderLab’s own numbers and feedback on how the switch has changed things for them day to day, and we’ll add that here as soon as we have it.
